Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Prière, S'il vous plaît

Hello Friends!

On Tuesday I received an email from one of my really good friends Leah, telling me that she was leaving for Haiti the next morning. As you know, conditions down there have been horrific, hundreds of thousands of people have perished, and there are still those trapped under the rubble of fallen buildings. Out of the many friends that I have been honored to have, Leah has been the one who has always been ready to go and do what the Lord has called her to do, no matter the risk. I look up to her greatly, and am always in awe of what she is doing for Him. So, with that, I ask that you would pray for her and pray for God's will over her trip down there, and that He would put in front of her those who need ministering to. Below is a portion of her email, and as you read it, you will see just how much of a jewel in God's Kingdom she is.

"school is great and super easy this semester. yay, finally! i have class on friday and will start working at north side hospital a few times a week for my practicum when i return from haiti. which brings me to another topic...
i am leaving tomorrow to go to haiti to work with a medical team from a dominican church i am connected with! i will be gone for a week. i would like to ask you to pray for our safety but i know i should ask for you to pray that God's will will be done in every moment i spend there and that He will be glorified in every word and deed of our team. my pastor and an elder just spent over a week there with some dominican doctors. our church (with some partners) started a project called redeem haiti last year and this earthquake has really changed and propelled that effort.the website is www.redeemhaiti.org and you can read spencer's blogs from his trip and i will be spending emails for him to blog while i am gone. i have been itching to go for weeks so i am SO excited! we will be "camping" (not the way we do in the US) at a christian school that was undamaged that will serves as their mission base. i am praying have i strength and a good attitude even though i won't be showering, etc. eating rice and beans once a day and cliff bars and fruit leathers in between! yum, i love warm bottled water! ha
my mom is a worrying about me going, my dad is confident that God is calling me exactly where He wants me to be, even if that means not living with my dad forever! haha so be praying for them as i am gone."

Thank you so so much,

Pray pray pray! <3

SpringSpringSpring!

That is exactly how I feel about Spring. I feel that if I am forced to wait another day for that enchanting season, my very breath will cease. Yes, you heard me, cease. I will breathe no more. So, pray that it comes tomorrow, or start planning on what you will wear to my funeral.
Ahhh, Spring. Not to hot, not to cold. Just rightttt. [thank you, Goldilocks]
The presence of Spring feels so close, that I think that I could grasp it's very aura with my mortal hand.

Here are five things that I love about Spring:

1. The flowers. The absolutely paint the farm with color and vibrance.

2. The dew on the ground. I love it when you go outside and your feet get a bath. :]

3. The weather. Magnificent horse-back riding weather!

4. A natural photo shoot. Spring is the most perfect time for pictures!

5. Leaves! I love it when all the leaves on the trees start to come back! It seems like they are coming home from vacation!

Comment and tell me your favorite things about Spring...or any other season, for that matter!

Love Always,

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood...

It was an amazingly beautiful day today, and you couldn't force me at gun point(actually..you probably could) to go back inside. It was a perfect day for pictures of little childrenss. :]

Lucy and Desi

I would like to introduce you to my new best friends (sorry Rachel and Catherine and Tori...you're getting dumped) Lucy and Desi:

We have spent every waking minute together for the past two days. They think I'm pretty spiffy..and cool. We sit around eating thai food and watching romantic comedies together (more than I can say for my old friends!)
They are absolutely the bees knees.
The only thing that bothers me about them...is that they eat flies.

Peace Out!

Hope...

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you. -Psalm 33:22

So, I was recently encouraged to make a "hope" list for 2010...instead of New Years Resolutions (which I never do anyways). So, here is the list of things that I hope the Lord will do in the next 12 monthes:

I hope that...

The Lord will give me strength for my journey

Me and Rachel will be able to go to Europe this year

I will be able to attend at least one dressage show a month this season

The Lord will give me compassion for others

He will give me wisdom

Every person I meet will see Christ's love shining through me

My shoulder will quickly heal

I will become a better and more accomplished rider

I will become a better sister/daughter/friend

Instead of bringing people down, I will lift them up Spiritually

My Junior year will be just as good as my Sophmore year

:]

Hope
Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune--without the words, And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land, And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me.

Me

So, I was thinking. You people reading this blog, whoever you are, really don't know that much about me.

Well...where to begin?
First off, I am 16 years old, a Sophmore in High School, and I'm homeschooled. Yay me.
I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where my Daddy was head of a ministry to the poor and the homeless, and just 3 years ago moved up to North Georgia. It was absolutely refreshing getting out of the hubbub and the 'Go Go Go!' of city life.
My family has been missionaries for 10 years, and love every minute of it(Well...more or less).

I am taking all of my college courses online currently, majoring in Web and Graphic Design and Graphic Editing. Yes, I know that sounds a little odd to you; a 16 year old talking college courses. Oh well, that is typical me. Somewhat over-achieving and over-confident of her truly fantastical skills.
:D

I am an avid dressage rider. I ride my foundation Morgan mare, Ellie, everyday for at least an hour. I competed in my very first dressage show on my 16th birthday(it was also my horses very first show), and won first place out of 18 competitors and highest point out of 30 competitors, with a score of 74.5. If you know anything about dressage, you know that that is an almost perfect score.. and if you don't know, well, that is an almost perfect score. :]
I love my family, and I try to serve the Lord as best to my ability. I wish I did everything perfectly, but sadly, I do far from that. I am just your regular 16 year old, who is trying to go through life shining God's light. Let me tell you, not always an easy thing, but it is always richly rewarding.

Love Always,

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words...and I Have Millions of Pictures.

These are some of my older pictures. Not as good as the ones that I previously posted, but I like them none the less!
Enjoy!
